Trip Description

Two Caves 1/2 Day Adventure

Experience Beautiful Cueva Ventana and Cueva del Indio! The reserve has about eight arches formed by cemented dunes which captivate us with their scenic view and the Atlantic Ocean.

Cueva Ventana (“Window Cave”) was certified by the PR Tourism Company as an eco-tourist attraction for its environmental conservation practices. The Window Cave adventure from San Juan provides a private tour of the facilities, lasts 45 minutes and is composed of two caves, a walk through the forest and the view of the cave towards the valley.

The place has a period of the antiquity of 30 million years and has a secondary forest in the karstic zone. In the grounds, we can appreciate about 100 species of native and exotic trees, the place counts on a great diversity of animals and endemic species just to Puerto Rico.

In the cave, we can appreciate pictographs of our aborigines and petroglyphs with face formations, we have neighbors of the area with the characteristics of our Taino ancestors and here we can see their physical features.

It is impressive to see the communities of different species of bats and culminate with one of the best scenic views of Puerto Rico. At the end of the tour, we see a canyon, valley, the big river Arecibo and Zero Point which is the highest peak in Puerto Rico.

Cancelations

    Eating, drinking or smoking inside our natural reserve is prohibited
  •  
    Swimming is not allowed. From April 2009, the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DRNA) prohibited this activity to protect the micro-organisms (“dinoflagellates”) living in the Bio-Bay.

    The tour is not cancelled on rainy days
  •  
    Only available on dates on booking calendar, our dates take into account the lunar schedule ( we do not go out on the full moon cycle )

    Ages 5 years and up (pregnant women beyond their 5 month, people with epilepsy, back problems, recently undergone surgery, or have a heart condition, not recommended)
  •  
    Tours must be cancelled before 48 hours for full refund. Those cancelled 24 hrs before receive a 50% refund, cancellations on the the same day of tour  are not entitled to refunds

  • Stringent Cleaning – We’ve increased the frequency of disinfecting surfaces and high traffic areas between each tour, and hand sanitizer will be available to all of our guests.
  • Social Distancing – Guests will stay at a safe 6-foot distance during all points of the tour. We also ensure that all staff members will be wearing the necessary PPE.
  • Wellness Checks – Employees receive daily wellness checks to ensure they are healthy and symptom-free. If you or anyone in your group is experiencing symptoms, we will work directly with you to cancel or reschedule your tour.
